ATLAS COPCO ATTRACTS YOUNG TALENT

Get out of academia for a while and experience reality outside the classroom — meetings with Atlas Copco experts allow university students to do just that. Our people regularly talk to new talent at job fairs. This awakens Atlas Copco brand awareness according to our vision: First in mind – First in choice®. For their part, the students get to see the latest technology and gain work experience at one of the largest companies in the business.

“We’re aware of our position as a market leader and consider it important to participate in cultivating young technologists. This is why we help them begin their careers, share our knowledge with them, and prepare them for the possibilities open to them after graduation,” says Soňa Bartková, HR Manager, explaining why Atlas Copco works with many European universities.

Last year we participated in job fairs in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. “These meetings allow us to plant the Atlas Copco into students’ awareness. After all, they are our potential future employees, customers and even business partners,” says Soňa Bartková.

Students are interested in new technology

In addition to colleagues from the HR and communications departments, salespeople and product managers meet with students. They explain their own professional experiences to the students, show them how a large multinational company works, and introduce the advantages of working for Atlas Copco.

To those interested, they also introduce our company’s modern technology and products. “The students are very interested in practical demonstrations of how each tightening technology is used, and the differences between them. The knowledge quizzes we prepare for them are also well received, as is the chance to test their manual dexterity,” Bartková adds.

Colleagues from the HR department then answer the most common questions regarding open positions, temporary jobs and other career opportunities at our company. Students are often interested in writing their thesis on the work of Atlas Copco.

A leader’s commitment

Of course, our work with students doesn’t end with job fairs. Throughout the year, we help young people gain work experience at Atlas Copco, improve their qualifications, and ease their entry into the job market. Internships at our company help students broaden their knowledge and deepen their expertise in a specialty that interests them. “This collaboration benefits us too,” Bartková remarks. We improve the qualifications of experts on the Czech market. “And these are the people who may contribute to developing new products and technology at Atlas Copco,” Soňa Bartková adds.
